Read Bio > Alix founded ADS in 2013, after more than twenty years of combined experience in both Texas and California with Studio A Group (Co-Principal), Paul Lamb Architects (Manager) and Don Crowell Builders (Construction Manager), among others. Her work includes new homes, remodels, additions, outdoor living spaces and lighting. With a BA in architecture from Rice University, Alix enjoys collaborating with clients, interior designers, decorators, consultants and construction professionals to create elegant, timeless and functional spaces. She is particularly passionate about lighting, detail and craft.

1. CONCEPT

Before putting pencil to paper, we learn all we can about your needs, the particulars of the space under discussion and any jurisdictional restrictions like zoning or neighborhood guidelines. From here, we commonly develop study drawings, documents, models or other media to bring ideas to life, ultimately producing a schematic design for your approval.

2. DETAILS

Next, we take the schematic design to the level of detail unique to each project. Details span from mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural and architectural elements, ranging from carpentry to lighting. From here, a general contractor can create an initial quote from these drawings.

3. Documentation

We will translate these detailed drawings into documents for construction. This package will equip the contractor to produce a final bid and seek any necessary permits for demolition and construction.

4. Oversight

We provide on-going contract administration throughout the building process to help builders trouble-shoot unexpected issues and assure you of conformity with the plans you approved. We take pride in creating a sense of teamwork with builders, owners and sub-contractors and facilitating the success of the project, start to end.
